Sunday Worship

Sunday worship at Holy Trinity is centred around the Eucharist each Sunday morning at 10.00 am.

On the 2nd - 5th Sundays of each month, our Parish Eucharist is traditional in style, though our use of the Common Worship Liturgy gives us plenty of opportunity for ‘variations on a theme’. Our wonderful church building at Holy Trinity is very flexible, offering a space for different styles of worship.

On the first Sunday of each month we have our ‘family worship’ - sometimes a parade service with the uniformed organisations present. The service may include a ‘play’ or activity led by our young people. This is an ideal service for those who feel the stress of taking their young children to church!

There is a crèche for the youngest children every Sunday, and a comfortable area in the south transept where slightly older children can look at books or make pictures. On Sundays other than ‘family worship’ days, in term-time, older children may attend Sunday Group (4-11) or Hotstuff (10-14), re-joining the rest of the congregation in time to receive Communion, or a Blessing, at the altar-rail.

For those who like a quieter time, there is an 8.00 am service of Holy Communion on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, using the Book of Common Prayer on the 2nd Sunday and Common Worship on the 4th. The 8.00 am and 10.00 am congregations have an opportunity to meet and share in fellowship on the 4th Sunday of each month, when there is a Church Breakfast at 8.40 am in the Church Hall.

An evening service is usually held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6.30 pm.  The format of the Sunday evening service varies from month to month: please see "What's On" for details.
