2010 Annual Report
The Parish of Holy Trinity Millhouses, some 3 miles south-west of Sheffield city centre, is largely residential with some 1400 households, but it also includes parts of a 30-acre public park and a large area of recreational woodland. It has within it three primary schools and a nursery, a few workshops, several shops, a railway, a major road out of the city (the A621), one of Sheffield’s rivers and - close by - three big supermarkets and two fitness centres. Millhouses merges with Abbeydale, Ecclesall and Beauchief, and the parish boundary is a line drawn on the map rather than the outline of a clearly defined community.
While Millhouses is generally regarded as a relatively prosperous area compared with many parts of the city, the particular needs of the parish include the stress of young family life with often both parents working, and the loneliness of the elderly, with their family often living some distance away.
