2010 Annual Report
The number of adults on our electoral roll hovers around the 150 mark, of whom rather more than half come from the neighbouring parishes. Our congregation at the main Sunday service averages 90-100, and there is now a good spread of ages, from babies to 90+. The size of the congregation makes it possible for most of us to know one another, and newcomers are always made welcome without being put under pressure to be more involved than they wish to be. A good chance to meet, chat and get to know one another comes at the end of the 10 am service each Sunday, when many of us stay for coffee, tea or squash, and a biscuit, in the Church Hall.
For those who are happy to be more actively involved in what goes on, there are many opportunities to do so - as sidesmen (of whom we have around 40), lesson-readers, magazine distributors, servers, sacristans, sound-operators, coffee servers, members of committees … and so on.
Our church’s work is of course dependent on the efforts and prayers of all those involved, but we also rely heavily on the financial support that members are able to provide through their regular giving. We have a Stewardship scheme, to which most members of the congregation belong, and we are invited to renew our financial commitment each year, usually around the end of January. We hope that new members of the congregation will feel able to take part.
