The Church Building

The church is stone-built in the ‘Arts & Crafts’ style and dates from 1937, so we shall be celebrating its 75th birthday in two years' time.  The building is normally open daily from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and visitors are welcome, whether to pray and reflect or just to look round.

The interior is light and airy and has a simple dignity: it gives a feeling of space, which lends itself to visual art and music. The space is flexible and seating can be moved aside or re-arranged, for such activities as Barn Dances and for Christmas and Easter worship.

If you are visiting the church, you may like to notice

  • the FONT
  • the WINDOWS
  • the LADY CHAPEL and its altar-piece
  • the SANCTUARY and altar frontals (including the fine embroidery to be seen there)
  • seasonal BANNERS above the altar (no east window)
  • the ORGAN: refer to separate page
  • the CHILDREN’S AREA in the south transept
