About Us

The Parish of Holy Trinity serves a popular residential area some 3 miles south-west of Sheffield city centre. Our church building is a fine stone building, Grade-2 listed, dating from 1937, with an excellent modern organ.

Our congregation at the main Sunday service, around half of whom cross the parish boundary to worship here, averages around 100, with a spread of ages from babies to 90+.

The present Vicar, Canon Peter Ingram, is assisted by a Reader, a Pastoral Worker, a part-time Youth Worker and a Musical Director, as well as by the two Churchwardens and their deputies, the Parochial Church Council (PCC) and its sub-committees.

We greatly value our links with Sheffield Cathedral, with the other Anglican churches of the Ecclesall Deanery, and with the other local churches in the Abbeydale area.  We are currently exploring the practicality of a formal association with the neighbouring parish of St John's Abbeydale and, to this end, our two parishes are increasingly sharing in joint activities and a pooling of staffing resources.  Our Link Parish in South Africa is the Church of the Reconciliation in Manenberg, a township on the outskirts of Capetown.

Our responsibility for mission is one that we try to take seriously, and the money raised by specific appeals and donations is supplemented by the planned allocation of a proportion of the regular weekly giving of the congregation to a variety of charitable causes.

Our Mission Statement sets out the kind of church we aim to be:

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, MILLHOUSES
Loving God, valuing people, caring for His world
Our church exists to:
*             be a welcoming and inclusive worshipping and praying community
*             build up and support the contribution of all
*             encourage others to enjoy discovering God and His love
*             reach out to serve the needs of the local and wider communities
*             live in a way that respects the environment
